Man oh man, do so many young talented actresses go by the wayside before they even reach their 18th birthday. No need to name names, you know the anti-panty, rehab-friendly, foodless crowd. This is my plea to those true talents...Hyde is not your friend. Be smart, stay strong, and no one will ever have to wonder "whatever happened to..."

These are my current faves:

Hayden Panettiere--she's been around for awhile. You probably knew her before, but thanks to the fab show HEROES, you can't miss this captivating young ingenue. She's my #1 because, after all, you save the cheerleader, you save the world.

Miley Cyrus--you might not know who this girl is, but I assure you, she's HUGE on the tween set. Barely 14, she's already a singing and acting sensation via Disney Channel. Expect big things from this girl--she's got a really spunky personality and as Billy Ray Cyrus's daughter, she's got superstar in her blood.

AnnaSophia Robb--I don't know too much about this girl and I've never met her, but still there is something about her. At only 13, she's already SO FREAKING CUTE. She was one of the few redeeming qualities of the Willy Wonka remake. Call it a hunch, but I think I'm gonna have to pay attention to this one.

Selena Gomez--This Texas native hasn't even popped onto the radar yet. But make no mistake, rumor is she's landed herself not one but THREE disney channel pilots and is a sure star. I personally can't wait to see what she's got in store. Disney has proven itself to be quite the catalyst for young stardom in recent years (think Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan...) and its for that reason that I'm keeping an eye out for this chica.

What's in a Name?

Many of you are probably familiar with the pop culture term "Casting Couch," and the practice that it implies. I want to make it clear that I use this term as more a play on words with a familiar phrase. I in no way condone or practice any actions which may coincide with the common understanding of this term. I prefer its more PG-rated definition. See below--courtesy of Wikipedia.

"A 'casting couch' is also less commonly used as a general term for the difficult casting process that actors and actresses go through when trying to land roles. The 'casting couch' concept in many respects is connotative of the entertainment industry, but may apply to any industry for which entry is highly desirable and competitive. The 'couch' connotes a comfortable and informal setting common to a 'casting audition,' as opposed to the less comfortable chair that typically connotes less desirable job interviews."

In or Out?

Here a blog, there a blog, everywhere a blog blog...

So I've wanted to get this started for awhile now, but I've been hesitant mainly because of content and legal concerns. However, I've decided its probably time to take that leap and see where this cyber wind takes me. It might fall flat on its face, but at the very least it will help me keep my thoughts organized and my career goals in focus.

So what is this blog about? well, I don't want to buckle down on that subject just yet because there's nothing written yet. But I can lend you some insights into what I HOPE it will be.

Its Main Focus: CASTING

What do I mean by this? Well, this isn't going to be your typical Gossip/Entertainment blog that follows millionaire celebrities and their turbulant and lavish lifestyles. On the opposite end of the spectrum, its not going to be an acting job posting either. Rather, its true focus will be on the art and process of Casting and what goes into finding a star.

Below is a listing of what I expect will dominate the content of this site.

1.) Running Commentary on Actors I Like. My main focus here is to keep track of all the fabulous talent that I've been fortunate enough to come into contact with during my career. This will chronicle my notes on those actors who I think may be on the rise to stardom, or at the very least, headed for a prolific acting career.

2.) Fun Facts. I am an IMDB and wikipedia junkie. Anyone that peaks my interest while I'm watching movies, tv, and commercials is fair game for my wandering mind. If I come across anything interesting there, I'll make sure to share with you all.

3.) Rants and Raves. I have been known to be quite an opinionated person, so if any industry-related topic peaks my interest, expect to hear about it on here.
